Gippsland custom home and commercial builder.

For decades, our family has been building for yours.

As a second-generation builder, family remains at the heart of everything we do. It shapes how we communicate, how we build relationships and how we approach every project entrusted to us.

Our clients are at the heart of everything we do. That's why we actively welcome your feedback at every stage of the process, including after we've handed over the keys.

Building a home is complex but with our dedicated team by your side, the process will be clear and transparent. Ensuring you feel informed and confident, every step of the way.

The difference is in the details.

  • From the initial discovery phase through to construction, handover and beyond, you'll work directly with the same experienced team from start to finish. Unlike larger builders, we don't pass clients between departments or building coordinators. You'll have direct access to Herbel Building Group Director, Harley, and the people responsible for delivering your project every step of the way.

We believe clear communication and strong relationships lead to better outcomes. That's why you'll have regular opportunities to visit site, discuss progress, provide feedback and walk through your project with the team that's actually building it. No middlemen, no handovers, just direct access to the people in charge from day one.

  • We only work with trades and suppliers we know and trust. Our site team is made up of experienced carpenters and long-standing local trades who share our standards, so every stage of your build is handled by people who take pride in the finish.

  • Before any work begins you will receive a detailed, itemised quote that clearly sets out what is included. We walk you through it line by line, so there are no hidden costs or surprises along the way, just a clear plan and a price you can rely on.

  • "We decided just before the pandemic hit to enclose our alfresco area. We contacted Harley to have a look at our plans and ideas. Right from the outset Harley was great to deal with - he listened to my ideas and aspirations for this room and then set about delivering not only a great extension but offered new ideas along the way. He is not only a great builder with fabulous quality finishes - his team were also a pleasure to deal with."

  • "Harley and his team recently completed a bathroom renovation for my father who has dementia. His professionalism over this time from quoting to handing over the completed product was an outstanding experience. He made sure the disability aids were designed in a way that suited the look and feel of the bathroom. Harley and his team are perfectionists and equally as important, reliable. We were most impressed with his communication with us during the renovation and he was spot on with his time line from start to finish."
